A day in London
By Suze on Mar 7, 2011 | In About Me, Places to go

Can a day possibly be perfect even withouth being "special"? I do think so. One of the (many) reasons why I love London is that I've been there so many times and I still go there so often that on one hand I've seen multiple times most of the amazing wonders a tourist must see and on the other hand I don't feel the pressure of doing a thousand things at time because I know I'll be there again pretty soon. Plus I'm familiar with what I need in terms of transport and other logistic details so I can plan my day in complete relax.
I was in London for just 1 day and half last week for a series of reasons and I've had a fabulous normal AND perfect day. My next posts will be just inspired by that day.
So what did I do? You have to know we have our own little rituals when there. And we cannot start the day without breakfast at Starbucks (btw, anybody knows what's the strategy behind not launching in Italy? I think there's just a couple of Starbucks here in Milan...). Then I wished a good day to Filippo and he went to the office.
And for me, the first stop for the day: I think I never went that far by metro! At a metro station far far away I've had the most exciting shopping experience in ages at this amazing craft superstore, I've stayed in the store for the whole morning! (You can see a little pic here above). But on this let me keep some mystery because I will share surprises in the coming days...
I spent the afternoon hanging around at Covent Garden, one of my long time favorite spots in town (although very touristy). In the area I also discovered a street I didn't know and visited a couple of very very noteworthy shops (see next posts).
Then I realized I was not far away from Leicester Square where there's the best place in town (for me) for discounted tickets on the day of performance and after quick arrangements with Filippo I got two last minute tickets for The Phantom of the Opera musical that we never saw before. The show was spectacular (although slightly too dark and gloomy) and it's always such a deligth to go to the theater in London.
In my next post, spotlight on a couple of marvellous shops/brands. (But I've been a good girl and no shopping there!).
Do you have any personal secret address in London you want to share? I'd love to hear and note them for next time!
