Our holiday in Denmark (and my apologies...)

Ok, friends, it has been a month to forget, so to speak. Nothing serious nor worrying luckily but between work issues and complications in everyday life I kind of felt I had no choice but "disconnecting" from blogland for a while. I have to confess this was due not only to lack of time, but also to lack of energies: you know, it happens sometimes to feel a little drained and exhausted... Can you understand me? So I didn't update my blog, I dramatically reduced the time spent online in general, I neglected an amazing e-course I'm getting, and I barely checked my blog email nor returned your lovely comments of which I'm deeply sorry: if you're waiting for an answer from me, please accept my apologies and expect to hear back in the next few days!
BUT I'M BACK NOW! :) Missed you all so much, and so happy to write here again... (So I guess disconnecting was not such a good idea and it just made me feel worse I'm afraid...) I'll catch up with all your news now and hope you'll be so sweet to stay with me again for a new season here on DailySuze!
So, let me pick it up from where I left: our holiday in Denmark. I won't bore you with a overdetailed travel "guide" (even if I'm tempted to... ;) Just drop me an email if you're planning a trip to Denmark, I'd love to provide recommendations on the amazing places we discovered!). Let me just tell you it was a beautiful trip, and thinking about it now still conveys a feeling of freedom, fun, serenity.

Unforgettable moments: Tivoli lights by night, Skagen beach where the seas meet, breakfast in Ribe, Egeskov castle under the pouring rain, the magic dinner at Klassisk in Århus, Den Gamle By, Copenhagen by bike, shopping for nordic design beauties, driving in the beautiful quiet countryside sourrounded by cows, horses, giant white windpower pinwheels and many many more precious little memories...
You know what I noteced? THE WINDOWS of the Danish cottages and houses. Very often the windows are "styled" as decor vignettes to be seen from the street. Have a look to this selection:

and you will spot: a swann, Mr. H. C. Handersen, an angel, a ceramic pinapple, a chubby acrobat, a pretty cake stand, kissing frogs on a rooftop, a sailing ship, candles, hanging cups, and many times you will se the magic couple: a white lamp + an orchid (I'll copy that for sure in my new home!)
I love this little phenomenon (that you really cannot see here in Italy for example) and it's evident Danish people do care for decorating their home and making it cozy with elegant design: this seems to be so "normal" and effortless there... I always thought it must be connected with the fact that the Danish nights in winter are so long and people tend to live more indoor I guess... What do you think?
I leave you with few more shots I like from our trip and be sure to check back later: I'm sharing a special recipe! :)

Teal bike in yellow hall

Yummy muffin (don't you love the buttons pattern in the plate?)

Old mill with odd shape

Lights in Tivoli (probably one of the best things we visited)

E non devi assolutamente scusarti.. la vita spesso prende delle pieghe cose improvvise che è difficile starle dietro!
E poi.. la vita vera.. beh, sta dietro al blog! Lo dico anche per me.. dovrei ricordarlo più spesso!

We should all take a break from blog land and technology in general once in a while.

@Rambles with Reese: Ciao! Thanks, glad you like my pics. I'm in Parma. Where are you?
@Aina: Oslo, che meraviglia! Dopo la Danimarca voglio proprio visitare tutti i paesi nordici dei miei sogni! Sulla luce alle finestre: hai perfettamente ragione, la sensazione è esattamente quella! :)
