Few days ago I was going through a couple of recent issues of my favorite glossy magazine, Glamour UK, and I suddenly noticed they're everywhere: clutches! And not only the tiny swarovski studded ones or micro silk ones to wear by night, but particularly maxi clutches, oversized casual clutches for every day!  The designer pieces are really crazy expensive, but there's fabulous Chic 4 Cheap alternatives, don't you think? :) (The flickr group is here!)

 Now, as everybody knows I LOVE bags, in many styles and materials. If I had to choose I'd say I'm a shoulder bag type of girl and I also adore handbags and satchels and more, but... CLUTCHES? Ok, these new maxi clutches are really pretty and trendy but are they really comfortable? And what if I need to carry my burden of stuff - including at least: netbook, notebook, work cellphone and personal cellphone, iPod, wallet, keys, cigarettes (sorry), fruits, some make up, likely a book, various other random items... (see this photo for example!) - and what if I don't have a personal assistant following me everywhere carrying my stuff while I graciously show off my big but still not practical clutch under my arm? This trend puzzles me...
